Green Leaf Report

For years, a landfill has been a less than desirable addition to any hometown. No one wants to live near the dump, and debates have gone on for years over the social and racial makeup of neighborhoods where dumps were finally located.  All in all, not a pleasant or fair situation.  But maybe change is in the air: GE is investing in landfill gas.  As landfills become not just a dump, but a source of resources, maybe they won’t be tossed on top of the poor as much as brought to the place of industry.  We need to process our trash, and reuse everything: the gases, the wood, the paper, the mulch.  Hopefully this is the first step.
