Converting to Solar

With all of the debate about global warming, I’m happy to see religions jump into the fray. The argument so often is an economic one, it’s good to sometimes see the religions pull back to the big picture: economic growth aside, what is the right thing to do for our fellow man and our planet?  Pollute and have a lot of profits to create some local jobs (business as usual), or attempt another path?

For the past year or so I’ve about the debate within the Evangelical Christians, where some want to make protecting the earth’s resources a central issue of their political platform, and others within the faith disagree.

Today I read this article about how the Vatican is converting some buildings to solar energy, again to protect creation and respect the earth’s resources.  Organizations with the power and the following of these religions have to start taking a stand on such an important issue.  Really, we need to stop wasting time arguing about whether man is able to change climate or not, and just understand that if we can better respect the planet and opt for renewable resources, we should.
