That’s the direct quote from Shelley Dahlburg, an attorney for the state of Texas, during the arguments over the governor’s right to fast track the 11 proposed new coal plants.  I’m not clear which side Dahlburg is arguing; but if it’s for the coal plants, well, it’s good to know that the lack of future clean air is not the debate anymore.  I’m sure this phrase was taken out of context and was simply a statement on the limitations of property rights, but it certainly is a good soundbyte.  And it shows a clear failing of our legal system and environmental protections; corporations are still allowed to maximize profits at the expense of the surrounding communities.
